Trans Day on the Mountain

Come climb Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park with MTN. 

This event is part of our "Getting Out" event series. 

Entrance fee is $4 for Maine resident adults. 

Bring your own food, and drinks. Alcohol is not permitted.

Friendly, leashed dogs, and all service animals are welcome.

Allies welcome and encouraged.

A trans day at Popham Beach State Park. Because going the beach is safer and easier when you're surrounded by people who will affirm and protect you. 

Entrance fee is $6 for Maine resident adults. 

Bring your own food, and drinks. Alcohol is not permitted.

This beach is open to certified service animals only. 

Allies welcome and encouraged.

Trans Cultural Primer, General Track- Portland

This training is designed for people in helping and health professions. Our Transgender Cultural Primer workshop offers three tracks: Generalist, Mental Health, and Health Care tracks. During this training, you will learning basic terminology and theory, how to ask for pronouns, health disparities facing the community, resiliency factors, and targeted best practices. Providers will have an opportunity following the training to apply to be added to our referral list. 

Certificates for CEU's are available with registration.

Facilitator Training

This is one of three trainings we are offering this fall for folks to being certified MaineTransNet support group facilitators. This training is for anyone interested and committed to becoming a group facilitator for eithero ur standard support groups, social programs, or new youth programs. This event is by invite only. If you are interested in being invited, please reach out to us at info@mainetransnet.org and we can talk!

During this training, members will learn:

  • basic meeting facilitation skills
  • redirection strategies for oversharers
  • crisis management
  • how to handle disclosures of trauma
  • MaineTransNet group policies and procedures
  • best practiecs in providing non-judgemental and validating support

We look forward to sharing this day with you! Lunch and all supplies will be provided.
